 As an Austinite for 25 years, I've always enjoyed taking day trips with friends and other couples. Discovering the areas near us is fun and exciting, and the best part is that it doesn't require a lot of planning or a big budget. These little escapes help break the routine and can be planned on a whim, making them the perfect way to reconnect and recharge. Whether you're planning a honeymoon, celebrating an anniversary, or just craving a spontaneous weekend away, these destinations near Austin offer the perfect backdrop for love.


1. Fredericksburg: Wine Country Charm

Nestled in the Texas Hill Country, Fredericksburg is a must for wine lovers. Tour scenic vineyards, sip award-winning wines, and stroll hand-in-hand down Main Street. Don't miss a sunset hike at Enchanted Rock, it's pure magic.
